Love the truck man.

I'm hoping to do my 97 a little differently, but Idk if the axles I plan to use will hold.

I'm planning to use a 351 bored and stroked to a 408, supercharged with a dual quad carb setup, with Cleveland heads ported and polished. It should be in the neighborhood of 750 HP, 870 TQ. Will a Rockwell rear and Dana 60 hold against that power, if I choose to use a doubler? Or am I going to need a Rockwell in the front?

do you know anything about narrowing those axles because i prefer not to have 12 inches of tire outside the wheel well.

Flip the hubs in on the rockwells to narrow them.
750 hp....Whichever you choose to use will need upgraded shafts
I wouldnt run a rock rear and 60 front. Choose one or the other , rocks or 1 tons
I wheel with BB44 and Ive seen him git on it pretty hard on occasion and he hasnt broken anything yet with rocks and the 557, but its no 750 hp motor.
Dual quads will get you in trouble in the woods . Mud is a different story.
I run 1 tons with SBC thats desktoped at over 400 horsys and I havent thrown any major parts out from under it yet. I have grenaded a few NP208's before I upgraded to the 205 setup. My 2 cents , hope it helps your decision

listen to blazer, if you wanna ride the street rockwells are not for you. even w/44s the 6.71 gear ratio sucks. the shafts are stronger than 60s but not stronger than cromo 60s.

as far as a rockwell rear and 60 front, they don't mix. Plus I dont think you can even get 60f 6.71 gears.
