    I suggest using the method I used with the insulating foam as a base. You can shape it and sand it to get any shape you want. Take your time and only remove a small amount of material at a time. If you have to draw out a template in actual size and then cut it out so you have a positive (the console as you want it) and a negative (the reverse shape of the console). The negative can be used to test your shape for symmetry and uniformity.
    For the 12" sub I would face it towards the rear wall and not angled like mine. I had trouble with my seats sliding forward. If the sub mount is behind the seats, it would not impact movement of the seat.

    Read my build thread or the write up in the tech section again about building the plug and laying the FG over it. Check out www.fiberglassforums.com and look at various projects to get some idea of what needs to be done.
