Does your local Ford dealer only have one Ranger, or implying that they only ordered one to see how they will sell?

The Ranger is only built at the Michigan Assembly Plant, and my Ford source tells me that they aren't fully ramped up yet, but on plan.

If your dealer only has one or two, it's probably because that's all they could get at the moment. If they only have one, they probably had another one, and sold it. I can assure you that Ford is building them as I type this, and more are on the way.

Don't let a dealer manipulate you in to buying the Ranger they have in stock, instead of the one you want. They probably have more on order from Ford, and they can check other dealers to see if they have the truck you want, and trade with that dealer to get it for you.

Last time I swung by the local dealer they had 4 or 5 Rangers. It was also the day after their carrier truck comes in.

The Ford Dealership is across town so I don't see it everyday but they're usually pretty good at having the popular trucks. They never carried a lot of cars, even before Ford canned them.

Man... I'm just not feeling it. I knew they were in the works and then I saw a couple first hand at the '18 Detroit auto show. To me, they just look like an Austrailian migration...like they grabbed the plans and said hey let's try this again. It doesn't have the old Ranger feel to me. A diesel option would have been good too, perfect for that reboot like the option that was in the 1st gen for 5 yrs. These are just the ramblings of my sadness though I suppose.

Our local dealerships have an average of 2 or 3. But we are also only a 2 hours or so from the plant.

But each week i see more and more cruiseing the roads.

ZeroHour... I feel much the same way. My hopes are squarely on the shoulders of the Bronco... I just want to be excited to own one.

That said... I have yet to see a 2019 Ranger in person... and I commute 2 hours a day 5 days a week in the Chicago area.

Can anyone really say they'd notice it if you did see it in passing? I can spot a 1st gen blocks away or tucked in someone's back yard, a field, the side of the interstate at a shop behind a fence (while i'm driving 60-70mph and same for the Bronco 2. Mmm.... they make my ticker flicker... but the new one. Gah. Just looks like something from overseas to me. Everyone's got their thing though. I hope the new gen will stand the test of times for the new young crowd.

In its day surrounded by other brick like trucks I don't know how much a first gen would stand out.

Now if you see a small square truck running around you pretty much have a 50/50 chance it is an older Ranger. Back before people gave up on their Mazdas/Mitsubishis/Dakota's and the Toyota's blew away in the wind there were a lot more small compact trucks running around that all kind of looked similar.

Those Dakotas and Rangers did look alot alike. A custom Dakota looked just like a customer 2nd gen Ranger

They made them longer than first or second gen Rangers too.
Not really.

Just a year either way.

82-93 for square S10s.
83-92 for 1st/2nd gen rangers.

I think the reason for the high number of them is this is also the meth capital of the region. Berrettas and 2.8L Firebirds are also common.

First or second. 83-92 s-10 vs 83-88 or 89-92 Ranger.
