I bought a 2000 Ranger for my son. He really wanted some chrome wheels for it. A buddy of mine said he has had several rangers and had a set he could have. My son went over and picked them up, brought them home, washed them, polished the crap out of them and I told him I would buy him tires. I got the tires went and had them mounted and balanced. We went to do the swap the other night and the center hole in the chrome wheels is too small for his ranger. He was very disappointed. I asked and the guy I got them from said he thought they were off of a 2000 ranger but it might have been older, also the wheels were off of a 4x4 and ours is 2wd. You would have thought the 4x4 would use the bigger center hole. Have any of you ran into this? Thanks in advance!

Are they Ford Rims, from a different vehicle? Are they aftermarket Rims that were on a Ranger before? OR, Did a guy sell you rims that he "thought" were on a Ranger. Pics of the Rims might help us Identify the wheels

I do believe the 2wd hubs are actually bigger than the 4x4 since the 2wd trucks use an old fashion wheel bearing hub and rotor assembly which is larger than the 4x4 hub. But... ranger rims are all lug centric so the center holes are the same size on both. They must be aftermarket rims.

They dont look quite right to me for factory rims... the factory steels have more V shaped holes and not D shaped. Not sure? Either way, sell them and put the money into finding a proper fitting set.

iirc those were first available for the Splash model. Jeep has a factory set that looks very similar.

98+ up rangers have a bigger bore up front. Those wheels are 97- older. That’s why they don’t fit.

Either get hub-centric spacers to make them fit. Or find different rims.
