Ok, I've had to replace the Master clutch cylinder twice in my '96 Ranger XLT, 2.3L, within the last year at a local shop. I would've done it myself, just a 45 min. job, but with problems with my lower spine and left hip. took it to the shop. Anyway Both times, had to redo their work, turning the master *45, from vertical to horizontal, finish pressing in the retaining pin for the adapter fitting and tighten the lose fittings.
Six years ago, upgraded the worn out MOD-5 transmission to a Tremic T-5, so much easier to do a clutch job. Any way, getting back to the main reason for this post, has anyone out there upgraded their master clutch cylinder to a Mustang performance type master cylinder? Yeah, I aware the Mustang master is flush the firewall, where as the Ranger master has a slight taper to the clutch pedal. Any input appreciated, Stedman....
