Currently looking at spindle lifts for my 02 ranger edge 2WD.
I've noticed that kits such as the Rough Country kit (https://www.roughcountry.com/ford-suspension-lift-kit-43130.html?find=2002-ford-ranger-4wd-412367 ) has a torsion bar bracket drop down. The other kits that I've found like from Fabtech and other places do not have/include this torsion bar bracket drop down. Granted... the rough country lift is also for a 4WD vehicle but does that matter with the torsion bar?
Also, is there a way to use the 4WD spindle? I know on 2WD spindles look very different than the 4WD. Mainly that the 4WD has the big hole versus the 2WD is not. But I was wondering if there was something in which you could bolt in to make the 4WD knuckle work with the 2WD/convert the 4WD knuckle to a 2WD spindle. It looks like the 4WD knuckle retains the same geometry in the OEM due to the large rectangle hole at the bottom of the knuckle. This seems to eliminate the need to grind the lower control arm. Is that the case?
Could I bolt the 4WD hub up and just not have an axle connected?
