There are differences in how the pump the relays ect interface throughout the harness from sn95 to fox. Not a mirror harness.

I like the deutche style or Packard style connectors to interface and or replace the OEM connectors these days.

what i don't really understand is the painless stand alone wiring harness and a few others ones all say to replace my current distributor from my sn95 to the 86-93 tfi distributor version.WHY???i don't understand y i have to change it to the foxbody one to make it work.can anyone shead some light on this thats easy to understand.

so i have a 1995 donor for my v8 swap.now what im a tad confused about is can i just use the oem harness on the donor stang and wire it to my 1987 ranger and get it to run or will i have to change distributor and ecc and all that other stuff??i never done a engine swap b4 of any kind so some of the terminalogy im reading is kinda losing me.sorry guys just want to get it right the first time.

Could u elaborate on that?

It has to have the TFI module mounted on the distributor. That's why they mention it.

push start vs cd?...there are 4 types of modules....i have done 3 wire conversions before to get the tfi off the dizzy due to high failure rates of aftermarket junk in a hot as hell pinto engine compartment making actual horsepower.

pip and spout are to be shielded

idm and crank-run are in different pins depending on application. so if it comes with a tfi harness pinned for remote it will want that....or repin.

Push start. In other words, the grey module 99% of the time.

The 3 wire relocation shown in the tech section here just flat out sucks. It's no way to do a job.. Just terrible. Though I do realize with some models, you're stuck with doing it that way. No other distributor models to be used..
