So my father passed down an old airco dipstick 160 mig machine to me about 5 years back. I haven’t used it much because you had to have the wire speed cranked to max just to get the wire to come out.

I decided to look around and see if there was a way to adapt a newer style gun to the machine. I found a company called weld mart out of Texas. They sold me an adapter to used a “euro” style gun on this machine. So tonite I installed the adapter. And mounted the new gun.

Here’s the results.

Next up will be fixing the wheels. Repainting the machine. And making a better mount for the gas.

Looks like it still lays down a good bead. That machine will probably outlast 2 or 3 new guns.

I bought the Hobart 140... I believe you strongly recommended it. I still have a eye on things looking for an older used machine.

Just so you know... I really like my Hobart 140. I think it was a good choice for me to grow with.

Yes I have the Hobart 140 as well. I do love that machine. But I prefer the bead this airco lays down. Has a lot more power behind it
