Really?? No "how-to" for coolant flush in the tech articles

Why are there no "how to's" in the tech section about radiator flushing?? Unless I didn't see it. I checked in the cooling/heating section and you would think something as common as a coolant flush would be in there. I know what to do I just like reading what others experienced while doing it. Am I just blind or is there really no how to for this?

this might be one of hte tasks that is considered fairly simple and not in need of a write up. Not sure on that, but this is a good one for you to give a write up on, it should be fairly easy and could help the new to car/ truck maintenance.

While you gentlemen have a point, the OP kinda does too. You get that young kid that has no repair experience and no one to show him how to do it. A tech article might be of some help. I was in that boat at one time but wasn’t afraid to get repair manuals and read. That was also before the internet had any real content like it does now. Getting people to read books is like pulling teeth now but put the same content on the internet and they’ll jump at the chance.

I thought you put "Chowdah" in your tank, along with fish oil tabs to boost mileage !!!

And, I agree about the need for a simple how-to for the newbies who have never done this. Would save them $$$ over a $100.00 bill at a garage.

Some engines have block drains which changes things somewhat, some don’t. Neither my 2.8 or 5.0 did so the instructions for me are drain at the radiator and follow whatever directions are on the flush bottle.

The CR-V was like that. The block held quite bit of coolant in it that would otherwise bot get drained out. I had another vehicle like that too but I’m not sure which one. It might have been the ‘98 with 2.5 Lima but I’m not sure.

Where I went to college in Williamsport we got a lot of students in from NJ.

One of my favorite things to do the first week or two of school was go sit at the Sheetz at the end of campus and watch the freshman girls with NJ plates try to figure out how to put gas in their cars.
