I seldom come here as my Ranger's hardly have a problem..I'm on my third having put over one million miles on my previous '96 and '93 which my son is still driving. But my '94 has developed a problem with wide open throttle between shifts. 2.3 five speed, 162,000 miles runs fine idles fine..but as soon as you take off and start shirting the rpm's go almost wide open between shifts as if you were speed shifting. Coming to a stop I have to almost stall it then it will idle down correctly and idle as long as you sit still..as soon as you start..the problem returns.. I've replaced the idle air control valve, throttle position sensor, checked for vacuum leaks, ..I've replaced suspect vacuum lines, vacuum tree...etc anything associated with the vacuum system without success..It is throwing a EGR code..but..so is the '93 my son is driving and it has no problems.. In fact he just left..he's a certified mechanic on Ford, GM, and Cummings diesel and he has yet to determine the problem..other than the throttle problem, it runs fine and everything works..I drive it 200 miles per day on a parts route and have no issues other than one stated...anyone have a idea of where to look ?? Thanks for any help !!
