I've read through the options to repair or replace the odometer motor and worm gear - I get it. However, in my list of symptoms the speedometer works fine, the odometer has stopped working after a long road trip, and the trip meter doesn't turn and hasn't worked well or been "reset-able" since the day I got the truck. If the reset is not directly related to the motor or gear, would it make more sense to replace the whole speedometer or IP? Although I could live without the trip meter, if I have to tear it all out anyway to fix the one issue and I have to track down a replacement motor potentially anyway, it just seems logical to me. Anyone tried to fix the trip meter reset before? If I push it, I can see the numbers vibrate and move slightly, but they won't reset. It feels like a very mechanical button, not electronic/digital. One last question, can anyone tell me what model years should be a direct fit? I appreciate the shared wisdom. Thanks in advance.
