My credo
Lead follow or get out of my way
My first experience with a Bronco came in 1969. My dad came home one evening with a brand new K5 Blazer. Within a couple days... My uncle Ed pulled into the driveway in a brand new Bronco. The hoods went up... and as I know now... the smack talking began. Bigger engine... blah blah… automatic transmission... blah blah… and I absolutely remember my dad saying... it's the size of a "peanut" in comparison. Then we piled in the Bronco for a spin. I sat in the back with my cousin and watched in amazement as my uncle drove a three on the tree manual transmission. I remember thinking... my uncle Ed was probably the best driver ever! I was 7... that "peanut" Bronco was just my size and I wanted one. The Bronco thing... it's been with me ever since.

I remember the days when you could buy a used original Bronco for several hundred bucks... and I bought a couple. The first was a red and white 68... in-line six with a three on the tree... just like my uncle Ed's. The next was a black and white 73... 302 automatic. I loved both but they were rusted piles of sheet metal... I still had a 2 tons of fun with both. Then I bought my 76... in 1981. I had that until I bought my first Ranger... brand new in 88. I sold my 76 and it got retired to a hunting rig in Northern Michigan. It was sold to someone I know and have hunted in their camp... I would like to try and track that old truck down and see if it can be had again. You just never know...

I never felt the same thing for the full size or even the Bronco II... at least until I got involved here on TRS. The full size... meh. But you guys and your BII's... bravo. I see what I've been missing and without a doubt I would love to have one myself.

Now for the dreaming part... literally. I've been dreaming about this new Bronco. Ever since they released the Bronco R... I've dreamt pretty much every night about it. My dream has two constants... the video with the Bronco R pulling out to pass the 68 original race truck (the rest is fuzzy) and it goes along with the Jason Aldean song... We Back.

Specifically the following lyrics...

We back, we back, we back in the saddle
Back on the stage making the whole place rattle
Back with the A-Team, train on the track
Thought we were gone, but you wrong, now it's on
We back

For the non country folks... here is the song.

This dream is starting to freak me out... seriously. Feels like a good premonition... but it won't go away.

It even goes further... I swear I've had deja vu several times. Usually when I'm flying down the highway in my 06... I swear I see myself firmly planted in the seat of a new Bronco.

I got this stuff bad... really really bad. Will someone please send help?

My name is Uncle Gump and I'm a Broncoholic.

My name is Snoranger, and I'm also a Broncoholic.

I'm with you 100%. I don't have the long story to back it, but I have owned a few Broncos and BIIs over the years. I had the '04 concept as the background on my computer for years.

I've been watching this new Bronco closely since they started talking about it. Go visit Bronco6g.com. They know more about it then anyone.

We should start a Broncoholic support group.

I believe an "exersist" is someone who assists when you exercise. I think you want an exorcist. :icon_rofl:

I hope you're not disappointed in the new Bronco and it lives up to the hype and the name. That way I won't be disappointed either.
In the meantime we have the Mustang Mach E unveiling this Sunday.

Well damn... I can't even type. But I could use some exercise too.

I'm staying optomistic...

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

I liked the original Broncos and the BIIs. Never much cared for the big models. I’m interested to see what they do with this new one and the baby Bronco.

Im looking forward to it as well.

It sure wont be as downright bad ass as a 78/79 with a 400/4sp and a set of 35s breathing out a nasty set of flowmasters....

But i am looking forward to it.

i cant describe how awesome the new bikes are....the harley is 30 grand and actually cheaper then an electric sport bike i rode, but i have not rode the harley yet...

that electric mustang i hope is the game changer that is needed....i look forward to hybridizing me some off road shenanigans...
