Found this on the local ads for 100.00. Looked clean. Spins free. Came with the intake. Took a gamble. Looks to be a 77-81 block. So gonna need to scrap those heads ASAP

Nice find! I'm on the hunt for a 302/C6 combo as well. May have a line on some 70's Ford 4x4 drive trains as well. It's only money, right?

My credo
If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
Those must be very early 77 heads because they have rail rockers, if you decide to use them I'd recommend converting to rockers with guide plates instead. Rail rockers put tremendous side loads on the valve stems and cause guide wear. It doesn't look to have a cylinder ridge, hopefully you can just hone it and rering it. Ford always said to never bore a 302 beyond .030" but for years in the late 70's/ early 80's we got Ford remans with .040" over pistons so you should be able to get away with a slight overbore if needed.

I had a local machine shop check it out. They said it’s fine to run as is. Just clean it up.

I also picked up a set of completely rebuilt e7 heads for next to nothing. So gonna do some port work to them. And convert them to stud mount rockers.

The E7TE heads are pretty good, not GT40's but pretty good. Compared to the rail rocker heads they're wonderful.
