Well, there is a thread on the site already about gas prices, but they've gotten into a politcal shootout on that so I didn't want to post this there...

I just filled up at an Esso station (in Ontario) and the owner happened to be working...when I was paying I said "A Buck Eleven for gas, eh!" and he said "Yes, and it'll be $1.50 by the summer"...

When I asked him how he knew this he just shrugged and said something about increases...and then he said "they've got us over a barrel"...

I laughed and told him that was a good one, but I'm sure the pun wasn't intended...

Hows prices in the rest of Canada?...I've read some posts by people in AB and the price seems to be around the same ($1.11)...

If gas goes to $1.50 by summer. Diesel will be about $1.75. Can everyone say hello to greatly increased retail costs for everything?

Aww you didn't pay that price did you?

thanks for the link...but I live in Barrie...used to buy gas in TO before heading home from work cause it was always cheaper in the GTA...but I've paid less in Newmarket sometimes than what was listed in TO...I just made sure to keep enough in the tank in case I find it cheaper...but a few cents here and there doesn't matter much overall.

I thought there was a Barrie link, well now's the time to add one!

Also Take a look at http://www.mcteague.ca/ this member has the inside scoop on prices and has been right so far. This way you get some idea when to buy.

I filled up at the Husky Cardlock in Red Deer and paid 1.05 a liter yesterday. And I'm getting 90 octane gas doin it too.....and whenever I can we take the GF's Yaris, get's 40mpg in town. Although my 97' 4.6L F150 wasn't doin too bad at 18mpg 50/50 city highway.

Mark in case you are interested here are Barrie and surounding area prices

http://www.ontariogasprices.com/Barrie/index.aspx
Thank you...I usually buy from the Esso down the street and it is currently the best price...I'll keep the link for future reference, but I think the one I go to is about the cheapest in town...

Might be travelling to Newmarket in the near future and the Esso at Woodbine and Greenlane usually beats Barrie prices...but there is a Shell station at Yonge and Greenlane that is usually about five cents cheaper...

One night or so a week they had dropped their prices to like ten cents or more below the competitors across the street...then it gets really interesting because the competitor (Petro Canada) drops their prices...
