2011 Ranger 2.3L 80k miles, driving to work and I lose power. I coast to the next exit, and troubleshoot. I can start the truck, but have to keep the accelerator all the way down to keep it on. It Revs up then down with full throttle, when you let off, it dies. I checked the fuse to the fuel pump, then went and changed the filter, still the same, then changed the fuel pump. Still can’t figure out what’s going on. Same symptoms, throttle down to start and stay down to keep engine running...revs up then down, can anyone think of what’s going on?

Have you plugged it in to see what codes are stored? That's your first step.

I'd check the fuel pressure at idle, and if possible, when driving/revving.

I'd also do a voltage check on the TPS. It's easy with a voltmeter. You can search here in the tech section, or Google "Ranger TPS voltage check" for instruction on how to do it.

I'm surprised there's no code stored though..

Another thing I didn't think of that is free to check, is to remove the rubber intake tubing and have someone floor the gas pedal while you check to see if the throttle butterfly is opening all of the way. Engine not running, of course.. Just one of those obvious checks that's easy to do.

1) Unplug the MAF and see if it will run

2) Look around for large vacuum leaks, a broken hose to the booster being the most likely.
