Thoughts on greasable vs non-greasable u joints for regular street driving for 2000 4wd??? I'm going to be installing new ones shortly and am leaning towards non-greasable. I'd rather not have to maintain them. Also, what would you suggest for brand - moog, Dana, Ac/Delco, etc???

You can neglect a greasable u-joint just as easily as anything else...

As far as strength, guys in the pulling world, and for extremely high HP applications, I've read that they stay away from greasable u-joints due to the drilled internal passages potentially weakening the joint.

I always used the greasable u-joints myself. I figure if I can keep them greased up and that makes them last even a little longer than a non-greasable one, then I'll be replacing them less which is always a good thing. They're a pain in my arse to replace..

the non greaseable U joints on both my Rangers, 2000 4wd & 2005 2wd, lasted for way over 100,000 miles. mileage wise, the CV joint on the 2000 went first with a dry ball. even that was at about 110,000 miles.
