In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

Oh, what a mental image that induces.

Passenger; "Hey, Bob. What's that laying on the floor there?"

Bob; "Not sure. My mechanic left it there. I think it's his forscan".

Passenger; "Whatcha gonna do with it?"

Bob; "I dunno. Can't bring myself to call and see if he wants it back."

Passenger; "I know a guy that might want it."

Bob; " Give him a call. I just want it gone."

It looks like the train tracks were on fire prior to the crossing.

Not unlike the threads you start...

Just the right size to touch the ground.
I bought the lifetime extended license. Only 50 bucks. I've never used the "lite" version for android or ios, just the windows version. It's amazing software but if you use it alot you notice it has vastly different features depending on the vehicle you're working on.
Yes, I have noticed that too. There is a lot more options available on the 2017 6.7 than the 2004 6.0. Of course, there's also a lot more computing going on in the 2017 than the 2004 as well as several more modules. Same goes for my 2007 Expy.

Edit: Sorry, I didn't realize the topic had changed. LOL

Always evolving. Reverting to the threads origin is always allowed.

I’ve used Forscan, so far I’ve been pretty happy with it, solved a few problems for me for sure. Would love to see more features and would love to have something like it that works with other brands, but I’ve only used it on RBVs so far, all of the full size trucks I’ve had to work on are too old, lol

I have a few questions, seriously thinking of getting forscan, some questions related to that, some related to the PATS on the wife's Explorer...

So, I've kinda paid a little attention lately about this, haven't looked into it much but since I have 4 OBD II Ford's now ('97 Ranger, '97 F350 powerstroke, '98 Explorer EB and '00 Explorer Limited, oh and a parts '97 Mountaineer) I would like to do some tweaking of some things...

-The EB Explorer has auto locks enabled, I'm assuming this can be bypassed?
-Neither explorer has a key fob and I only have one key for the '00 and neither have a code for the door keypads, an easy thing to deal with? Dealer wanted $150 for another key...
-Is it possible to add key fobs to any if I get them? I've found a couple at junkyards...
-The EB Explorer just tonight acted like it has an alarm honking the horn and flashing the lights, is that a PATS thing or is there an alarm in it somewhere? Had it for two years (got at auction, so no past history) and it's never done that before...
-any tuning capability? Shift points or anything? I have some modifications planned for the '00 so it'll need bigger injectors and all sorts of stuff, I know what I'm doing but not what software to use...

You don't need forscan to add fobs but yes it can do it. And forscan does not have tuning abilities. Just as built data functions (stuff like enabling or disabling features)

Don't you need two separate keys to add fobs like for adding a key? I mean without software...

Still doesn't seem like a bad thing to have... might as well...
