With the current cost of the 2.3 Ecoboost powertrain, even one from a salvage yard, AND the cost of the Ford control pack, a traditional 2.3 turbo would be much more affordable for most people.

$1650 for just the control pack: https://www.cjponyparts.com/ford-performance-engine-control-pack-2-3l-4v-dohc-ecoboost-crate-engine-2015-2017/p/M601723T/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzMfW6LfO4wIVRdbACh2djgP9EAYYASABEgKslvD_BwE
I wonder how power bands compare?

2.3 EB direct injected with a twin scroll turbo vs a 2.3 Duratec IDI with a single turbo. As more donors hit lots the prices will come down.

Even with more 2.3eco powertrains hitting the yards, the new 2.3 swap still won't be all that affordable (because of the control pack) until the aftermarket steps up to build a standalone kit to run it. When a kit runs about $700-$900 (i.e. Ron Francis, etc) then we'll start seeing all kinds of swaps.

As far as power, I'm sure a new 2.3eco in an older Ranger would be a total beast. Even compared to the older 2.3 turbo.

My credo
Break. Upgrade. Repeat.
I have only seen "big broncos" with a 351 or a 400. I only mentioned my 460 as an attention grabber!

Having said that... what should I pay to get my vehicle turbocharged?

And more importantly... titties?

#2 - I prefer a grocery store in a college town, on a Saturday or Sunday morning. Around 10-11am or so. Pro-tip if you work at such a place like I did. Turn up the A/C so it's freezing in there. The walk of shame'rs come in for snacks and bottled water and they're usually missing certain undergarments.. Quite the freak show. (my old boss that was stuck in a dead-end marriage to a land whale always had me crank the A/C)

We have a place called "Lucky's Market", unbelievable. They let you drink while you shop, guys grab beers and walk around to look at the girls sipping wine while they look for the best organic cheese. It's amazing.
