Thinking of purchase a set of explorer wheels for an 87 Bronco II, does anyone know if the explorer center caps will fit on the hubs once on the B2, they are auto locking hubs so no worries there.

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
I'm pretty sure you will have to drill the center out so that the bronco hubs can stick through the caps.

photoeric is right. I have those exact wheels on my 88 B2, and they look good, but I had to take a hole saw and cut out most of the center circle on two of them to get them to fit over the hubs. The 4x4 hubs are too tall to fit under those caps uncut.

thanks for the input if you have a pic of your 88 B2 with the wheels would love to see it. Figure the wheels will look better even without the center caps than the stock B2 wheels which are beat and not as wide anyway

The 4x4 center caps would have the hole already,

There are factory 4x4 center caps that fit those wheels, and look pretty correct. They are hard to come by.

The ones for the Explorers won't have a hole because the 2nd gen Explorers were the first to use those wheels, and they had a CAD axle, rather than locking hubs.

'95-'97 4x4 STX Rangers had those style wheels and center caps that fit around the locking hubs.
