That has got to be the basest model of Ranger ever made if it doesn't have a lighter. Even my lawn mower has a lighter.

Possibly. Originally a 2.0, now 2.3 but stock with MS, MB, no A/C, no radio, not even a hole where the lighter would go, and the basic 2-speed wipers. My mower is an early '70s Penncraft 18" pushmower so maybe I'm a little behind the times. My '83 F150 does have a push button AM and FM radio though!

Id hazard to guess theres still alot more 2.9s running around then what yall think. But since this is (generally) an ethusiest (sp?) site factory pieces dont last long when theres "upgraded" factory pieces that basically bolt in. Out in the real world i see alot of BIIs and rangers boppin around with 2.9s.

Like ive said before, the 2.9 suffers from the same issues the 400 does. They are often overlooked in terms of factory usefullness and potential because something "better" bolts right in.

If the 3.0 shared a pattern with the 4.0, i gurantee just as many (if not MORE) would be swapped for 4.0s as are 2.9s.
