In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Seems like one of these should be on that chart also.

We say the term "it can't be tight when it's a liquid" at least 10 times a week at work.

Eric... that's a Big Bamiffy. I want one!

Yes we always called hammers... Bamiffys. Don't remember how it started but it stuck... at least in my old circles.

That is it exactly...

I should have said... I don't remember who said it first.

Although... it is appropriate to also ask for a small Bamiffy... a rubber Bamiffy... the dead blow Bamiffy... they are all Bamiffys. Damn I miss my wrenching/racing buddies.

Uncle Gump <----- kinda sad right at the moment.

Im a welder and I dont even own an oxy/acy torch. Never will. I hate them with a passion. My last resort demolition tool is an air arc rod. My rig could dismantle a battleship or be gentle enough to cut a nut off a bolt without hurting the bolt.

They're great for heating things or lighting your cigarette when you can't find a lighter.

I have a handheld propane torch for that. But I'm not even very fond of that thing. It takes a serious nicotine craving and 30 minutes looking for my zippo before I will eye the torch. Or a really pain in the butt o2 sensor. I had a acetylene tank blow up on me when I was 12 or 13. Destroyed my 63 fairlaine and almost killed me. Ever since I just find no justification for owning a damn cave man tool.

How did you get a tank to blow up?

Lots of stupidity and dumb crap in a row. Chances of it happening again are probably 1 in a billion. The torch was old school, no flashback valves, line broke, somehow the line caught fire, panic reaction knocked the tanks over and bent the valve, valve leaked and the tank was then spitting liquid fire 20 feet right at me as im fleeing like a flame thrower. Then BAM! The entire valve split off and threw up a fireball as the tank flew into the yard. The car was incinerated before i got out of the ditch i was hiding in.

But i still have a fear of torches or really any pressurized tanks. My argon, c-25, and nitrogen tanks stay outside on a manifold system and I rarely touch them. The gas company does that lol.

The hot wrench has DEFINITELY earned it's rightful place in any metal worker's tool collection. There are times that it's precisely what is needed and no other tool is available or can be brought to the job site.

When you're 400ft back in heavy woods, with the trees so close together that you can't fit anything else in, and you're needing to cut something thick, nothing but a torch will do. I bought my mini portable torch rig just for this very reason. Worth every penny.
