The lantern cases came into today. I needed to work on putting up the car port for the winter, so no time for pictures. The first three rows of uprights needed to be secured before it got dark. Now I can be less hurried with the rest. Oh, what I thought was the replacement globe, for the one that is cracked, turned out to be the wrong one. My mistake. I'll have to do better next time.
Is that a portable carport? I need to find something I can put up to work under, not sure I'll make it permanent or temporary. Been meaning to check home depot or something to see if they got anything there.
You got any idea or recommendation?

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Northern tool has some tent/shelter things that work well.

Not in the traditional sense of the word. To avoid ordinance complications, it has been made to be broken down and stored every year. It's a 2X4 and 2X3 frame with a tarp hung over it. I have a couple in progress pictures but none of being finished yet. I'll post up what I have in another thread and when I'm finished, I'll post pictures of the finished product. The dimensions are 10' wide by 30' long by about 12' high. Big enough for two vehicles and the third in the garage.

Thanks Sarge, what are you using for joists?
Check this thread out here for the pictures. Even though people don’t mind thread drift here much, I’m trying not to veer right off the ledge. If you have questions after, please ask there.

I just don't have the luck you guys have with Coleman's, can hardly remember the last time I've seen one. I did however, double my Dietz collection today. The one on left is a No. 2 D-Lite Hurricane lantern, pre 56 is closest I can get on date because it changed that year when they moved the factory to Korea, and I believe the "Little Giant" model on right is likely older but haven't researched that one yet.
I'm also hoping to find a good outdoor propane, at least double burner, for cooking outside in the hot summer time canning stuff. Just wishin I had some kinda luck with the Coleman's

I found a old Dietz lantern when I was cleaning out a shed after I bought my place. Never been lit, it has a "Made in Hong Kong" sticker on the bottom so it probably isn't that old. I used it when I had a camping display at our local car show last summer:

There's a little bit about the post 56 models in that notepad thing I copied it from a website, maybe Dietz

In 1956 when the Dietz factory was relocated to Hong Kong, the No. 2 designation was dropped on all foreign made lanterns (Blizzard, Crescent, D-Lite) that used 1" scant (7/8") wick in favor of assigned numbers to differentiate each model, (#70, #80, #90, etc.)

It's probably still a good hurricane lantern, looks like a good one too

I looked at the Coleman stuff at Wmart last night, their fuel there is almost $13 a can, probly 14 after taxes.
their camping stoves are all set up to use the small propane canisters, and those after taxes about 7 bux for two
I saw another brand there that attaches to a 5 gallon jug

The Crown brand works pretty good too.

I checked, my Dietz is a #50.

10-74, same stove that was in the original post, we were featuring vintage campers that year.

My credo
Lead follow or get out of my way
I see the old Radar-Lite sitting on the big every-ready 6 volt battery.

Yes... I have a smallish collection (dozen or so) of old metal flashlights too. I bought a Radar-Lite brand new from a garage sale a couple years ago... still had the original tag swinging on the string. It also has the stand up red light... the prize subject of my flashlight collection.

It is a Eveready Captain or something like that. It was in my garage when I bought my place as was the steel fishing rod and reel.
