Anyone know how to figure out why my clutch push rod wont go into the master cylinder?

WAG; You may have to relieve the pressure in the master before you can put the rod in.

New master cylinder? used? just happened out of the blue?

Need a LOT more details here to help ya. First thing that comes to mind is that your hose between the master and slave has come unhooked from the slave and what you're experiencing is normal, just needs to be reconnected and bled.

If it's a new one be sure it's been properly bled before you lock it in there, else you may have to pull it as a unit (which is much more difficult) to get it fully bled
