The way they mount above the tail light is weird and too high though.

Did some more drawing last night. I like that bumper shape, I think I am going to call that locked in. It fills the gap between the hitch and tailgate without looking too gaudy.



The spindle is the same dimension as the brass bushing one (4" tall 2" dia)and is 2" tube, it is all just kinda mocked up.

For the spare tire, I notice a lot of Jeep ones have legs sticking out the top flush with the rest of the supports. Is the tire supposed to be pulled up against that so it can't wiggle?

I have done a lot of playing with it, kinda settled on just a C-channel with beveled ends. Local steel shop only deals in 6" and 10" channel iron. 6" is the same size as my license plate and 10" is too big so on a whim I had them price bending a 7" C channel out of 3/16" plate, $65 doesn't sound too bad and it cuts a lot of dinking around out of it.

I fabbed a rear bumper for a friends daughter. Started out with custom bent flat stock like you plan.
