the bearings in a '99 were a pain to get out. puller did no good, at least not my puller.
broke the sides off with a chisel and commenced to grinding.
cutting a diagonal line with a small cut off wheel wasn't working, could not see the depth of the cut nor reach the inside.
I found that a 1/4" cylinder on a hi speed Dremel did OK. cut at a straight angle and could monitor the depth.
when it was down to paper thin it popped and then I removed it with fingers. almost no damage to the housing bore.
as always, your method may vary.
