A bump so I can find my thread easier. This year has sucked....no racing.

I haven’t raced my truck for several years due to lack of funds and a place to work on it. Things are looking up, I have an agreement for a place where rent is mostly paid with labor, and another deal where I’m using labor to pay for a 2.3 liter 4 cyl. that used to be in a winning salt flats race car. The engine uses a mechanical fuel pump to feed a mechanical fuel injection system. If I can’t get that to work there is also a carb and intake to use that comes with. Hopefully I can get this working over the winter.

The place I thought I was moving to fell thru, real bummer. So I started insulating the RV I’m living in. Started to do heat-shrink poly on the windows and got 3/4’s around the bottom perimeter with 4" SM R-20 foam. I’m not looking forward to when it gets cold. Last winter it got down to -37 Celsius and it was no fun, but I also didn’t have good perimeter insulation. -40 Celsius is equal to - 40 Fahrenheit.

Dang... hang in there and batten down the hatches!

BTW, 40*C is 100*F. I would think negative would go the same way. Online calculator doesn't agree though.

Boiling water is 100* Celsius, 212* Fahrenheit. Ice forms at 0* Celsius, 32* Fahrenheit. They don't scale the same.

If you graph them out it would look like a drunk X, kind of tilted sideways. The lines have to cross somewhere and its -40 or close.

I seen where this started way back when and you felt over your head. Looks like you have come a long ways since then. Also seen the custom front end you had on your Ranger, (buckled hood)

I have gotten to your 77 Extended cab. Will try to finish it later. I had a 76 that I was going to restore. Need the normal floor pans, cab corners and body mounts. When I started stripping the paint, someone did a poor job on replacing the passenger cab corner. That was way over my head. A guy I knew used the truck for a parts truck for his.

I like the 76-77 grill but I want to use a 77-79 bed as they have the fuel door instead of a gas cap. I could always graft in a fuel door in need be. At this time I really dont need a full size truck, but when I do I am building an73-79 truck with 76-77 grill and 77-79 bed extended cab.

I will be like you started when I do a V8 Ranger. That is new territory to me. May be over my head, but i can learn. Just got to jump in and do it. I have done plenty of restores but they were all stock. Never done a V8 conversion. My welding sucks but I have a grinder and know how to use it.

Great build you have going on.

Thanks.
This truck is in mothballs and will probably be parted out. Some into my pinto, some into my other pinto, and some to the local community.
The off road racing isn't happening anymore....
Mainly lack of funds on my part. I had double knee replacement surgery two years ago, successfully. But still can't work a regular job of 8 or more hours... Other health issues in my feet.
But I will update if plans change.
