I have a 89 2.9 Ranger, and the air charge temp sensor is on the plenum. I noticed on a 92 2.3 that they put it in the air cleaner box. I've heard it said that this gives the EEC a more accurate temperature calculation. Were I to relocate it on my 2.9, would my EEC be able to properly adapt to the changes, or would I need to upgrade to the MAF system before that would be helpful?
I've also noticed the coolant temperature sensor was put partway in one of the heater hoses on the 92 2.3... would that have any benefits in a 2.9?
Thanks guys!
