Hello, truck is a 1998 Ranger. I have a 5.0l in it. I have read all about switching the wires around on the gauge plugs to get the tach to read correct for a v8. My question is what is the actual tach signal? is it Square wave 12 volt? I am putting an Edelbrock EFI system on it and the Edelbrock ECU puts out a 12 volt square wave signal. I would like to keep my factory tach working if possible. I can also take an old school signal off the coil but i'm thinking that will definately not be the right signal for the factory tach. Any input is appreciated, thanks
