We have the engine in and running! It's a tight fit, but it fits. I have pics I can share on a drive, but cant find out how to post on here without a URL link... I'll do some digging and see what i need to do.

regardless, new shows (2010) are coming soon and this project is getting a major push so you'll see it a bunch.

KT.

OK, so we went for a bonzai run around the block today..... no bed or front bumper on.... just enough hooked up to make her run and WOW! do we ever have a traction issue! LOL! at 30MPH when ya kick it down the rear end just gets stupid-loose..... this thing is gonna be a ROCKET with that aluminator in it!

More soon...

That's pretty typical of any V8 Ranger. Mine used to do that until I made a few changes. Gotta admit it is pretty fun to just put the hammer down and let er wail, isn't it?

That seems to be the norm for most V8 Rangers, but there are some things that can be done to help. Move the fuel tank as far back as possible, get a 'glass tonneau cover (they're not light), and get a pair of Lakewood traction bars. Alot of guys go with the Duff bars, but all they do is prevent axle housing rotation. The Lakewoods actually put downward force on the rear tires.

Did I understand you right..... you put an alluminator engine in your Ranger? The 5.4, 32 valve V8 alluminator, if you did, that has got to be a beast! Those engines are like 10 Gs for the n/a version and haul a$$!

4V B2500....Humm... Are you willing to part with the head off the original 2.5L? I'm in the middle of a turbo project and the shop told me my 98 head is cracked, so now I'm looking for a good late DP (98+ 2.5L) replacement core.

BTW,
I've been hoping one of your shows would do either a V8 or turbo ranger, this is going to be great. Love that your going with a mod motor! I hope when I'm done I won't have V8 regrets. I TiVo every show so I won't miss it, or the '78 F150 Cummings payoff.

I have a 4.6 aluminator from Ford Racing in my 08 mustang 8.7 compression for my eforce blower :) I wonder if this is the aluminator he was talking about? Oh and love the shows on SPIKE!!!!
