Hello All . Just gettin started on my conversion from an existing 4.0L . Wondering about how much to strip from engine bay to install this carburetor monster. I'm thinkin

I can use all the standard functions ( lights, brakes, vacuum, steering, etc.) and still remove all the computer stuff?? Any help with this project will be appreciated! Thanks,

cleveland? those are not real easy. the ones i seen around detroit run a modded firewall and dakota rack with borg steering shafts.

pretty much can shed the eec and leave the rest like you plan.

run a regulator inline or run a low psi pump in the tank carrier, powered/relay trigger off of a ops .

pretty simple deal with a carb.

Hey bobbywalter, thanks for your reply and input. I'm hoping to move that C a little forward by doing an electric fan in front of the radiator????
Anyway, just about ready to empty the engine bay and was curious about the electronics wiring. All the wrench work I do myself ( I currently run a 2000L
in the low 11"s) but I'm old school and don't do the eec's! Hence the Holley sitting on the C. So, next question: does the computer only address the engine functions and can it be removed totally without disrupting other electrical functions? Thanks again for any advise.
BTW I'm pulling a very good running 4.0 with a real tight 5 speed manual (kind of a shame) out of the 95 along with a 3.55 posi (8.8). I picked up an 07
FX4 Level 2 axle assy and I'm hoping that'll hold the hp and trq of the C.

yeah....i wish i had some pics of the rack job. it worked ok. dont remember the year dakota.

a few minutes staring at the wiring will make it obvious what needs to stay minimally.

i would be tempted to hack out all of the tib stuff and k member and run an aerostar or later crown vic front suspension setup to make putting the hi-rev monster low and hard launching...

I did a 351w swap I believe you biggest problems are going to be header and steering shaft issues. unless you go custom made outside frame rails and drop out fenderwells.

The C is bigger externally then a W. Closer in size to a 351M/400.
