Heat was on FULL all the time and TEMP dial had no effect.
I had already done years back the blend door repair kit (metal pivot) and then in 2014 the blend door server motor
So now I dropped the glove box and put my right hand on the servo motor as I turned the TEMP dial... felt NO MOTION
Next I did a voltage and resistance check on the servo plug and I did have 12V and with truck off.. I had the pins for varying resistance when turning the TEMP dial..
SO that confirmed BAD SERVO... which only lasted exactly 5 years (almost to the exact date !)
Ordered from Ford dealer (good price) and replaced.

Helpful tip since I had replaced the blend door with the repair kit I had to cut a hole in the bottom of the heat chamber under glove box
When you remove the OLD servo the blend door will move internally so lining up the NEW servo will be very tricky...
SO... I reach in under the hole.. and held the blend door in the HOT position which is in the direction of the transmission tunnel then plug NEW servo in and turn truck to ON and turn heater TEMP dial ALL the way to HEAT.. this will turn the keyed shaft to mate to the NEW servo which is to place in position and lower straight down not on an angle...
All good again.. NEW servo made in MEXICO (just FYI)

My credo
Give me money.
I've done mine twice in 10 years, first time under warranty replaced with oem motorcraft part, second time I just stuck a cheap dorman in it. I figure If its gonna crap out no matter what I'm not paying top dollar... the dorman one has been in for 6 years now still working fine.

With the replacement blend door kit, the door has total / easy movement with no binding. And it is a seasonal truck meaning it is used March to November and sits mostly in the driveway December to almost April not getting any use during the time when heat is needed most :)

A common issue for these servo motors is the internal gear teeth wear / break off... I will disassemble the old one but I felt no motion / noise from the old motor. I also did not install the 3rd screw towards the back of the servo.. I did on the 1st time replacing.. but at 220,000 that 3rd screw is NOT needed :)
