Hey all.

My 1990 Ford Ranger has been sitting for about 4 months or so, after the rear wheels locked up and I started a different job that didn't require daily driving the Ranger. I started it occasionally, but just didn't have time or money to work on it.

Fast forward to last week and I sorted out the issues, and got it back on the road. It still had winter wheels on it, so I got down to changing those back to my all-seasons.

I got the front drivers-side wheel off, it was just a steelie. Seemed a little hard to pull off, but I figured that was from sitting and rust. Went to put the Ranger wheel back on, and it will not go on for the life of me. I can get it on about a 1/4 of the way, and it just stops. The passenger side wheel goes on, no problem, and I don't remember the drivers side wheel being a problem to remove last winter when I installed the winter wheels.

In the photo I attached, it seems the wheel doesn't want to go over that second ridge.

Any ideas as to why this might be? Your help is much appreciated.

Cheers.

It is because of the rust, take a wire wheel in a drill and clean up the rust around the rotor where the wheel contacts the rotor. Also, do the same on the inside area of the wheel your trying to put on.

That did the trick, after some work the wheel finally went back on. Thanks for the help!
