1989-94 non-tach cluster?

I work at a salvage yard and a guy came in yesterday looking for a cluster for a 92 without a tach. We have an '89-93-94 but they all have techs. The more I thought about it, I've never seen one that didn't. They have full gauges so it's not a trade off like in '83-'88 Rangers. Is there such thing as a non-tach cluster from '89-'94?

Yes, my '94XL has no tach .

In the 1992 Ranger brochure all 4x4s had Tachs
In 2WD it was optional with Custom and XLT trims, Regular or Supercab

It actually remained an option on 2WDs all the way thru 1997 (though it was very frequently included in a "preferred equipment package" on 2WD XLT models). So yeah, you'll probably need to look at bare-bones XL trim to find the non-tach clusters.

hell, I wish I had a tach. Tried putting a aftermarket one on and it wouldnt work right. had no issues with doing that on the ‘92 but it didnt work on the ‘94, I even thought I had got a bad tach and bought another. nope. mine started life as a 94 2wd reg cab 2.3 longbed with the 5speed and 3.45’s

Thanks. Learn something new every day. Pretty much all the 89-92 and up in my area are XLTs so maybe that's why I've never seen one. All the 83-88s around and in junkyards are base model trucks like mine.

my ‘97 2wd 3.0 longbed was also a non-tach dash. was automatic but no cruise or power windows. XLT also

My '92 XLT doesn't have a tach.
I do have a tilt wheel WITHOUT cruise.

I don't know. That's just what he wanted. We had a tach cluster out of a 4 cylinder truck like his but he wanted no tach.
