So I got a truck and someone murdered the rear break lines. Had to replace all the hydraulics, and after 2 days of messing around with the Auto-zone flare kit I'm gonna just change the axles with pre-flareds for 20 bucks so no headaches...

But... I have to do the flare on the main body line as both hoses were mangeled so I have to "skip" that in line connector (lots a practice now!). I think can get 1 perfect double flare with prayer.

But I'm nervous on one thing.

What kinda line end is under the abs nuts. See pic. If its a bubble connection I'm gonna throw down for the $100 tool BEFORE I tackle it.

Thank you

ABS units almost always have bubble flares in them.

I used to put the bubble to inverted adapters in them so they can be replaced with off the shelf lines, and I still do if it's someone else's car I'm working on at home.

I got a Cal-Van flare tool that just does 3/16 line a while back and loved it.

I put this kit on my Christmas list this past year and actually got two of them: https://www.nationaltoolwarehouse.com/Master-Inline-Flaring-Set-P265249.aspx?msclkid=9d9b9b1fbc4e1a783716c7af2d01aa19&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=NTW - Cal-Van Tools - SKU - BingPA&utm_term=4582077272539844&utm_content=Cal-Van Tools

It's the same style, but with the bubble flare dies, and a wider range of line sizes. I have redone my entire Ranger, 2/3 of my B2, and 2/3 of my neighbor's Buick Century with these things, and I have only made one bad flare so far. That one I over-did it on the second stage and the line cracked when I tightened the nut down.
