Light switch help

Hi im new here, ive been reading the threads on here for a while now and i really am stumped on something so i figured id try asking here, i just swapped out the dashboard of my truck as i wanted to install new lights for the instrument cluster due to its bad habit of having burnt out bulbs, however now i cannot figure out how to hook up the headlight switch properly, ive got the headlights able to turn on however thats it, my dash lights wont come on when i turn them on either but thats likely just due to the other 6 wires not being plugged in, ive been trying to find a good wiring diagram or instructions and i even tried just plugging stuff in but i cannot figure out the proper place for the other 6 wires, could someone please help me, i quite like the ability to drive at night

I'm not real knowledgeable about that but this is the 99 Ranger Headlamp diagram

Thank you but i dont think that shows how to hook the wires up to the knob itself, then again ive never been good at reading these

That rectangular box in the center is the only one with 6 wires, and the one just above it has 2.
I'm thinking those are the two junctions in your photo.
Reading wire colors is pretty basic WH/LG - White/Light Green LG/BK - Light Green/ Black
The first will be a primary color and second is the stripe
Look for the colors on your wires that match the ones in the diagram
It isn't actually simple, but it isn't rocket science either.
Anything can be a daunting task if we let it

I've heard that in the southern hemisphere they turn lights off and on.
