Ok, so I'm thinking about installing new leaf spring insulator/silencer pads to my 89 Ford Bronco 2. I am not trying to gain lift by doing this but I'm curious on the effect it will have on my ride height. I've searched just about every possible wording I could think of online and could not find anything about these pads other than how to install them which is a no-brainer, or should be?. I mean I would think that they would affect the ride height but I thought things before and been wrong?. Thank you all for your time in reading this. Just curious on how thick a pad I might need to go with because I'm not trying to raise the rear end of my truck any more.

You mean the little plastic discs that go between the leaves? No, they just make it squeak when it rains.

AFAIK the plastic separators or whatever they are called are there to reduce friction between the leaves. They do nothing to ride height.

The spring shop I went to showed me a trick. Buy the separators that have 2 "clips" (for lack of a better term, the part that fits the hole in the spring) and cut them in half. Install. Just saved half your money.

So what I think you're talking about are called "leaf spring inserts" and the little things I called clips are known as "nibs".
In the following link you can scroll down to the double nib inserts. When cut in half the work and end up being cheaper. ( at least that's what my spring shop told me)

That's what I was talking about. Just always heard them called differently.
