The Explorer FEAD would solve all those problems--except for that mechanical fuel pump.

Get the exploder accessory brackets use the passenger side only and get a volvo electric power steering pump. Then you won't have the brakets taking up that space on the driver side. And get one of the driver side belt tensioners the mechanical one like on the 2.3. Yes you will have to measure to see what belt you need but you dont have a reverse rotation water pump with the mechanical fuel pump timing cover to my knowledge really you would be better off with an electric fan they are really easy to hook up.

No room with the Explorer timing cover so all that is a non issue. Not even enough room for the eccentric on the cam let alone any place to mount it on the SN-95/Explorer timing cover.

Inline pump on the frame is the way to go :icon_thumby:

My truck doesn't have power steering. If I can't find some single groove pullies I might have to go with an electric fan. I work at a late model salvage yard and we have electric fans piled everywhere. Surely I could find one that'll fit the radiator real tight.

Is your salvage yard all clean, organized, and fancy like PetroleumJunkie412's or full of muddy dildos like Dirtman's?

Dual pusher fans from a Mercedes C230 Kompressor is a direct bolt in for a first gen core support.

Mercedes C230 Kompressor <------ I can count on no hand how many of those I've seen in a junk yard. So screw you and your fancy smancy junk yards... lol

Junkie.... I never realized you had cooling fans feeding your cooling fan. Overkill? or... Just Right?

Overkill. They are disconnected right now because they will actually keep the thermostat from opening. They cool off the front of the motor entirely too much.

And if you do see one, GRAB THE M62 OFF OF IT. It's a modular blower.

That's exactly what you need though... an air cooled 2.9L. It can't leak coolant if it doesn't have any.
Look at any air cooled Harley, what's the one fluid that it isn't leaking?

I agree that the fan looks way too close for comfort. Is there anyway to add something like a modified bump stop to keep the fan from hitting the radiator?

If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
My 351 uses fox Mustang brackets and pulleys with the Ford Performance 351 p/s and a/c bracket and I hollowed out the core support and mounted the Griffin universal radiator inside it to get fan clearance. I have a 15" Derale fan on a 1 1/2" spacer that gives me about 1 1/2" of clearance. I'd hate to see much less than an inch of space. Is that tiny radiator enough to cool it?
