Looks like a draw... Ranger was giving it about 10x more than the yota. Not sure if that's like kids trying to beat up dad and the dad is just holding the youngin' back by pushing on his forehead. Yota either has terrible 4wd or is a beast in disguise. My opinion on tug o wars is all about your footprint... Two equally matched trucks don't matter if one has wider axles and wider tires than a tall skinny tire truck. That ranger reminds me of that scene in Jurassic Park 2 when the RV is about to go off the cliff and pilsbury doughboy trying to keep it up with his little truck. I'm sure there's a GIF or meme with that guys face HAHA.

Its all about who spins first. After that nothing really matters.

I lost a tug of war on a bigger tractor with bigger tires, one tire broke traction and it was all dowhill (and backwards from there)

Real world a John Deere B would show a Massey Harris 44 NOTHING in the field...

All good fun! I wasn't surprised about the steam tractor vs the John Deer. When it comes to power, there isn't much that beats steam. I was pleasantly surprised about the Tacoma vs the Ranger. Granted, not a U.S. model but it makes sense they are evenly matched.

Steamer was a lot heavier than the puller tractor too.

If you wanna get somewhat scientific get a sled:

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

Looks like he's taking the sled home. That's a beast.

Steam tractors are very impressive.

Youre right though, tug o wars are about traction, and in some cases wheelspeed.

I hooked my 83 F150 with a 300, creeper 4, and 4.10s to a 93 1500 chevy with a 4.3/auto.

Both 2wd and both were spinning but he beat me, not bad, but still.

Difference was i was in creeper digging holes at 4mph and he pry shifted 3 gears and was spinning 60.

In an actual fair pull off no one can really deny who woulda won.
