did you try just flipping the fuse over to move it out of the shop? You would still be out one circuit... but it may have allowed it to run.

I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!
The whole story is...
The radio room installed a county radio. They screwed into the hvac control circuit board and shorted it out, blowing the fuse. They pulled the fuse and turned it around... there goes the other side.
The truck didn't run with it out.
We had to figure out what they did and fix it.
We don't like to order parts more then once, we had to make sure they didn't screw through anything else, so I rigged up a temporary fuse setup.

So there's 2 fuses and a new hvac controller (the entire center of the dash) on order... $600.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

If you're gonna break it, break it big.

This wasn't even their worst f'up. When they installed the first radio in a full size Transit w/ 36 miles they screwed right through the main battery cables, air bag wiring, and some other stuff in the way. (The battery is under the drivers seat, the wiring runs right up between the seats, they tried 3 times to find something solid to screw into... they found the cables eventually.

They've screwed through transmission cases. They've screwed into gas tanks.

These fuses have been around for a while, but mostly used in German cars.

Ford has been using them at least since 2016 because I was working on a 16 F-150 a few weeks ago for a network issue and I was pulling those things out..0

Now if you want to talk about Ford screwing the pooch...…

Ford has an SSM out on the 1.5L ecoboost engines. If they are loosing coolant you are to do a 5 hour pressure test and check the cylinders for coolant. If coolant is found summary replacement of the short block assembly is directed.

Doing things wrong, until I get it right.
we used to get the f250 from Florida Wildlife Commision, for Grounds keeping, and those electronic systems were all kinds of screwed up, from whatever they had tapped into those things. we found mystery cables/wires all the time. Radios did weird stuff, some wouldn't start, some wouldn't shut off when you turned the key back the first time or 2. so glad i don't have to drive those anymore.

My first engineering job was for a company that just signed a contract with Ford to do a bunch of different things. The owner went and bought several new Ford vehicles for company use as a good faith measure. Among them were three Gran Marquis. He asked me to handle getting car phones installed on the three and his new Town Car. I don't remember who I had install these systems but they ended up running screws through the tunnels and into each top side of all three transmissions. Good thing I figured it out before I took his Town Car.

Is it just the camera angle or are the cylinder walls thicker?

They're too dumb to learn and still have a job there?

I miss the days of everything having seperate circuits, for example I dont care for power locks, I could easily bump the switch and lock myself out ( I rarely take my keys with me) Once upon a time you could pull a relay or fuse and it only affected one thing. I tried that in a S10 blazer and all kinds of stuff wouldnt work. And im sure its gotten worse.

What? You expect everything on a vehicle to work? Pfft!

If you want all of your electronics to work, buy an Audi. ?
