I am in the middle of an engine swap. A 4.0 from a 94 Explorer into my 90 Ford Ranger. After the engine swap using the wiring harness from the Explorer, my truck will not start. When I turn the key the starter will not engage. When I run a jumper wire from the battery to the Starter solenoid it turn over but will not run. Can you help me?

Explorer engine harness and Ranger dash harness (or vice versa) don't play well together.

Your honest best bet is to go find an engine and headlight harness from a 90 4.0 Ranger and use that.
