View Full Version : line for slave cylinder keeps popping off

so i did a auto to manual swap late this summer and got a new master and slave combo, but didnt do the clutch set at the time (knew i was on bought time). i replaced the clutch, pressure plate and flywheel, (dropped the tranny for it) and now the line for the slave keeps popping off!!! in gonna try to replace the o ring again today if thats not it any body have any idea why it would keep comming off? thanks for the help.

you have to watch that white plastic ring, it's a tight fit. the new slave i put on has a metal slip ring either one you might have to a screw driver apply pressure on it. Be sure to bench bleed your clutch master cylinder.

try opening your bleeder valve and pushing the valve in to relive the pressure then try to put the line in. what slave do you have? the new updated clip style or the old "finger" style.? i was having problems with the clip and i was able to remove the white collar and the line poped right in and worked great after that.

I just replaced mine a few months ago. The replacement slave was the new clip style. I had trouble getting it to attach as well. I took the clip out and slowly grinded down the clip till it finally attached. If you have the clip style you can do that, just don't take too much material off the clip. It always seems like nothing is easy anymore. Good luck, let us know how you make out.

sorry forgot about this post. the slave blew the front seal so it got warrentied, with a new master and line, problem fixed
