Anyone know the best way to tell bad ball joints visually when spindle pulled off of the truck? Also, when greasing them, do I just lift up the rubber jacket and rub some general purpose grease all over or is there a better method. Thank you.

Also, does anyone know if the lower ball joint is supposed to turn fairly freely back and forth and counter/counter clockwise after I grease them up real well? Don't know if that's a major wear sign or not. Thanks for any help. I kind of need it at the moment.

I only checkd them wiht the spindle on the truck, by grabbin the wheels at teh top and bottom and seeing if there was play. If there greasable there will be a grease zerk on them. if not i wouldt mess wiht hte rubber boot

best bet is if you have the spindle off and even wondering if there ok is to replace them, and also you dont grease them by hand, fill them through zerk fitting with grease gun, if theres no fitting than they are not greasable cause they are filled with litheum grease
