Analyzed and found to have codes PO171 and PO174, I just removed the MAF sensor and cleaned it, replaced. Then I reapplied the negative terminal, but after 15 miles the check engine light came back on. It had been hard to start prior to the MAF cleaning ( Mass Air Flow ) but starts easily now. I am beginning to think that the generic analyzers may not be producing the codes? This blog seemed to indicate that the codes almost always indicate a MAF problem.....I am 140 miles from the nearest Ford dealer...any help is appreciated. Doc

we need to know what engine you have. it could still be the maf, could also be fuel pressure, when was the fuel filter changed last, could be vacuum leak?
