I need to remove the EEC in order to install my JET chip (it was FREE).

The EEC is mounted to the firewall on the driver's side. There are two 11mm nuts holding it in, one top and one bottom.

I can't figure out how to loosen the lower nut because I can't get any tools in there.

Help?

My truck is a 94 2wd 2.3L 5-MT base truck.

Unbolt the inner fender

It's the only way.

And the fact that it is such a pain in the ass will explain why Ford Changed that after only two years.

they were trying to copy the setup on an F-150 but there really isn't that much room
on that part of a Ranger so after putting it there 1993 & 94 they moved it to the cowl
in 1995.

If you are patient you can get it out without taking the inner fender off. Take the 2 bolts off (top and bottom) that hold the plastic cover on the edges. Once that's off remove the center bolt off the wiring harness and unplug. The ECM sits in a narrow well. You'll have to work it around some but it will come out. I have removed mine more than a few times over the years this way.
