there are not many threads for 4.0 exhaust. I am wanting to put some exhaust on my 2003 4.0. I do not want it real load but i do want tone. I am mainly looking for performance. Not sure if i want to run dauls. I Leaning on just single and cheap. maybe just swap a muffler or cat back. What are some cheap ideas of this? Thanks in advance.

My credo
It was like that when I found it.
I put on a Heartthrob cat back dual about a year ago. (www.heartthrobexhaust.com)
It was easy to do but mainly inexpensive and fit around my hitch. There are many distributors (Autoanything is one). It is loud but this is what I was after. I prefer to call it aggressive. Muffler gone 2.5" pipe back to two glass packed tips. I think they have "quiet" singles too. If not, Gibson seems like a good and inexpensive alternative. www.gibsonperformance.com

By the way I have a 98 XLT supercab 4WD with a 4.0 OHV.

I thought the Hearthrob did NOT fit around the factory hitch? Yes, good deal for the price. I stalled one a a friend's dad's 3.0 a few years ago. Sounds great.

..

Why dont you do what i did..I think the magnaflow sounds really mellow, it doesnt have the popping rattle that FLOWMASTER has espicially when down shifting...I bought a SI/SI off ebay for $65 shipped...Then took it to a local muffler shop had it put on with tip for $75.....So..your call..

AND SORRY for no sound clip, i dont have a video camera, just a digital one....

Flowmaster 40 cat back system it fits great and sounds even better. The hardest part is getting the old muffler and pipes off the truck.
