Need some V8 muffler opinions.

Which brand/type of muffler should I use?

What should I go with on my V8 ranger? I'm running Thrush cheapies now, but it's just too quiet.

I also have no cats, no resonators, and have 2 1/4" true dual exhaust.

I want throaty, but not loud and annoying.

Flowmaster seems to be the favorite here, but what's the difference between the two?
 
I have a Flow 40 series on my 3.0 and love it. Sounds awesome in the power band for sho!
 
I would stay away from Flowmaster. They drone bad and you won't be cruising 15 minutes before someone else's ride sounds just like yours.

flo-pro makes some great sounding mufflers as does the flowtech afterburners, moroso spiralflows, ect...

I forgot to mention that my ranger also has dual electric exhaust dumps for that in-you-face sound blast experience. I'm just looking for something more aggressive than the Thrush, but not so much that cops keep pulling me over for sound levels.

I may sound like everyone else, but not everyone else owns a V8 ranger! :D
 
look on ebay for the flow-pro single chamber mufflers. there 40 bucks and i just put one on my b2 2.9. i had it strait piped before and it was too effin loud. i put one of those on there and its nice and deep and throaty. youll love em. oh btw there a flowmaster delta flow 10 series copy. but same material and shape as a 40 series just a little shorter. :) good luck with your desition
 
i have the 40 series flowmasters on my 351c and they sound great. the difference between the regular 40 series and the delta 40 series is the delta's are a quiet at idle but when you get to the higher rpms it gets wayyyyyyyy louder. i think the delta muffler has like 1 or 2 more baffles inside it. thats about it really
