Hey guys im having some problems with my radiator in my 99 3.0 flex fuel ranger. First it was overheating and I changed the water pump, now that i changed it, it has quit overheating but most of the antifreeze leaves the engine and comes up into the antifreeze over fill bottle. The antifreeze stops coming out of the bottle but now air bubbles are coming up into the over fill bottle(i can see them in the bottle). At first i thought there was just air in the system from filling up the radiator but the air is still coming through into the over fill bottle any thoughts on this? oh and is there some type of air bleeder valve anywhere? if so where at

there is no bleed valve.

your truck uses the pressurized overflow bottle, yes? with these types of systems the easiest way to bleed the air out is to just keep filling it as it sucks the coolant out of the bottle. eventually it'll "burp" all the air out.

if your worried youve blown a head gasket than you need to perform a compression test.

I had the same issue with anti freeze overflowing out my overflow. I changed ny thermastat, and that didn't fix it. So I had a test ran for my heads/or gaskets. And sure enough the test came back with exhaust fumes in my fluid. After we tore it down, I did have a blowed out head gasket on the drivers side. We went ahead and tore down the passenger's side, and it was bout to go out too.

Sounds like your head gaskets are leaking. fill your rad up leave the cap off and watch for bubbles. if you get bubbles, it's head gasket 1 or both

as of that if you do a compression test on a vehicle with 100k or more miles on somethin is gonna get messed up, the guy that had it before me did it and blew half of the lines off i wouldnt recommend doing that too often
