I have a 1990 ranger with electric tansfercase I checked the module, motor and switch and have found nothing wrong. But I dont here the realay make a noise were is it found and how do you test it? There is 12 volts going in to the switch but only 5.5 coming out is this correct. And on the module check list I didnt have any resistance for the wires on the tan connector. Any ideas

the relays are inside the shift control module. theres a procedure for resetting the module (though, i cant recall what it is) and i would try that first.
