which one is better... im looking to buy a power stroke i dont care much for what it looks like old or new but i would like it to have a 7.3 turbo diesel in it

does anyone have any suggestions or tips on which one would be better

im going to use it for hauling my mud truck almost 250 miles 3 times a year and might use a daily driver somtimes

99-03 will have more power i like the last 7.3 trucks but i would prefer a 6.0 03 over the 7.3. but i like working on a 6.0 over the 7.3 in most cases.

the only way i would buy a 6.0 is for the 05 grille style... my friend is picking up a 99 f-250 with a 5.4 in it for $1000 the guy says he thinks it just stripped a spark plug whole and ive fixed those before and i have the tap and insert for a new plug.. other than that is the bed has a huge dent in it from a jack knifed trailer.. the guy says it will start up it only has 125k on it single cab long bed.. for $1000 cant get any better than that fora full size thats newer

I say 94-98 simply because you have better access to the engine than with the newer body style.

Thats good because you'll end up having to.

If you stuck on a diesel (dont wanna start a debate) the 94-98's are eaiser to work on.

But it'll be eaiser to find a 99-03 with less miles, plus you get a solid front axle on a 4x4.

Personaly id go with a 460 or V10.

later,
Dustin

Yeah but he wants to tow his trucks pretty far and a diesel will get better mileage vs a 460 or v10. Although they are much cheaper...

How do you figure? and find a 98 model with a diesel

94-97 F-350 had solid front axles

460 or especially the V-10 cant hold a candle to the 7.3
1- Sorry, hit the wrong button.

2- No they didnt, leaf sprung TTB

3- A Good running 460 will annailate a 7.3 from the same time, a V10 will do jsut as good as a powerchoke.

Dustin

2 you don't know.

3 Are you serious?! You have never driven a 7.3l have you! because if you have, you would realize how wrong this statement is. And if the 7.3L has a chip it's even hotter! Better mileage and more torque.
