The real news should break later today or tomorrow. This just a FYI of maybe what the new Boss motor might be, that or one going in the GT 500.

5.0 Coyote update

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well all is going well and the line is up and running. Test engines are on the dynos doing certification and final power rating. The word is 2011 MY Mustang production starts March first with V6 cars then V8 as the line ramps up. Coyote Job1 in support of production is set for end of January. Transmissions are all new and there are many detail changes to both the V6 and GT so there is lots of training for those who are building Mustangs and Mazda 6 at FLATROCK plant.

A note of interest is that the ESSEX engine plant will be the supplier for "all variants" of the Coyote engine. I've been told there is a 5.8 running tests now.

some one told me that the new 5.0 will have the 302 and 351 bell housing and there may be an option to put a carb on it like the Chevy ls2 engine?
